White bathroom ceiling lights
can be as easy, or as hard, to
choose as a white T-shirt.
There are plenty about but
you need it suit your
requirements and exact
specifications. If you have a
high ceiling you have more
options available to you. In a
small room you want to retain
the appearance of as much
space as possible, especially
in a room where grooming
and use of a mirror is
frequent and light has to be
exceptionally
practical.
As many ceilings are white,
whether your bathroom suite
and floor or wall coverings
are a different colour, a white
light will immediately fit the
room and allow you to
redecorate without having to
address lighting as an issue. A
white light against a white
ceiling also will create an
illusion of space as it won’t
draw attention to the eye,
except for admiring
looks.
Flush mounted, slightly
dropped, with a decorative
back plate or not . . .
choosing these will be
determined by the size of
your room, ceiling height and
personal taste. Combining
white with a silvery finish
provided by chrome, stainless
steel or aluminium is a good
option as most tap finishes in
bathrooms are the same
colour.
You might wish to match the
shape of your light with a
dominant shape in your
bathroom or contrast it as an
extra touch. Circular shaped
lights are extremely popular,
partly due to their ease of
cleaning and that they
sympathetically echo the
curves in basins, bowls and
baths even when the shapes
follow more square lines in
the shapes of tiles and
mirrors. |
