The PIR180BK P.I.R sensor can be added to the following lights in our exterior lighting range, lamp posts, wall lights, bollards, pillar top light and bulkhead lights. The P.I.R sensor is an external stand alone sensor that you would mount on a wall or post where you want it to operate (we would always recommend that any installation is carried out by a qualified electrician). The sensor is triggered by movement and will automatically turn the lights that are connected to it on for a set time period which is adjustable on the sensors settings. You can also adjust the time of day that the sensor activates as you would probably only want it  operating in periods of darkness. The third adjustment you can make is the sensitivity of the sensor if you were to use the P.I.R sensor in an area that has trees in it you only want it to activate when a person walks by an not when the wind moves the tree branches. Using the P.I.R sensor takes means no need to turn the lights on for visitors as well as warning off potential intruders and of course is an excellent way of saving money with reduced energy costs.
