Using Bollard Light Fittings To Enjoy Your Garden At Night

There is much we can learn from hotels and how they make the most of their grounds with clever lighting. Bollard landscape lighting is a subtle touch you probably haven’t fully appreciated before, but think about the sweeping drives or the winding roads that lead to a car park. There might be some lamp posts, but more often than not, strategically placed bollard lights contemporary in design, dot the flowerbeds with low growing shrubs so you can see your way. It offers security – no high hedges or trees for bogeymen to jump from behind – yet it suggests an easy and relaxed place where you feel safe . . . because of the understated lighting.

You can achieve the same effect in your own home with garden bollard lights. There is an extensive range with small, knee-height bollard light fittings that would peek above ground cover plants and tall, slender installations that can pop up above rose bushes or other similarly sized garden favourites. Contemporary and traditional designs are all available and you can decide if you want to follow a path with evenly spaced bollard lights or have randomly placed lights, perhaps even of different heights, to add depth to your garden and to complement the features you have in your landscape design.

Some bollard lights are mini works of art just as garden statuary might be; others are functional individuals that prefer to blend into the background with only their lamp being the noticeable feature. Chunky or slim, classical design or the most modern, there are plenty from which to choose – even some with PIR motion sensor fittings for an added extra.
