A white lamp post will often fit
in with the outside décor of a
residence. It will complement
whitewashed walls or contrast
against brickwork or fencing
that has been painted or
treated with preservative in
natural or coloured tones.
There are several designs of
lights available to really show
your style and within the
range there are different
types of lighting and bulb
strength you might consider
before any final decision.
If you want a fixture that is to
provide a strong illumination
you could opt for a lamp post
with
several
lanterns or
choose a bulb strength that is
exceptionally effective in just
one lantern.
Contemporary
designs can offer a full range
of choice but traditional, lamp
housings might present a
more subdued effect with an
old-fashioned glow that is
reminiscent of gaslights if that
is the look you are trying to
achieve.
Singles, pairs and trios of
lights are all available and
within the different styles of
those with branches or rods,
there is an option for further
decoration by adding a
hanging basket, or two, to the
lamp post. Apart from
bringing a decorative element
to the exterior of a premises,
a lamp post will of course
bring an element of security
merely by its illumination.
Being able to see where you
are going when visibility is
compromised could prevent
accidents from low hazards
that might not otherwise be
seen and of course such
lighting gives an opportunity
to see any callers before you
open your door to them – or
not, as the case may be.
