Which light bulbs do I use
in my garden lamp post?
Our range of garden lamp
posts all use Edison screw cap
(E27) light bulbs, they will
take either
standard GLS style light
bulbs or energy saver
light bulbs.
Can I use sodium light
bulbs in your lamp posts?
No, our range of garden lamp
posts are not designed for use
with high pressure sodium
light
bulbs.
Can I add a PIR
movement sensor to my lamp
post?
Yes you can add a movement
sensor to any of the
lamp posts in our range. The
sensor cannot be
attached directly to the lamp
post it needs to be placed in a
flat surface, so wall or pillar in
close proximity. The sensor
will then activate a number of
lamp posts at once if
required. We do
have one lamp post in our
range that has a movement
sensor built in you can view it
here.
Can I automatically make
the lamp post turn on at night
and off in the daytime?
Yes you can, you need to add
a photocell
sensor, this is a similar
principle to the movement
sensor
and needs to mounted on a
flat surface such as wall or
pillar. The sensor then detects
when it is
dark and turns the lamp post
on and then off again when it
begins to get light. You can
connect a
number of lamp posts to one
sensor.
A point to remember when
adding a photocell to your
lamp post is the photocell
needs to be
positioned so that it gets full
light as an overly shady
position may give the sensor
a false
reading and turn the lamp
post on during the
day.
What are your lamp posts
made from?
Our range of garden lamp
posts are all manufacturer
from either aluminium,
galvanised steel or
copper. All are designed and
manufactured to a very high
standard to ensure that they
give many
years of life. The lighter
materials used in the
construction means they are
also simpler to install
due to the lighter weight.
How do you send the
lamp post to me?
Our range of lamp posts
mostly come in bolt together
sections with the head and
base just requiring
bolting together. This means
that we can use our normal
courier to send the lamp post
to you as they
can be easily lifted.
What cable should I use
to install my garden lamp
post?
We would always recommend
that you use armoured cable
when installing your lamp
post, this is to
ensure that all safety
guidelines are met. The
armoured cable should be
buried about 18 inches under
ground and marked with
marker tape. The lamp post
itself will be pre wired with a
cable that drops
down the centre of the pole.
This just then requires your
electrician to connect the
mains supply to
the connector
block.
Can i use a plug top on
my garden lamp post?
Yes you can. Your electrician
can put a plug on the end of
the mains cable to plug into a
standard
light socket. You should
always ensure that the plug
socket in either indoors or
you use a
waterproof exterior socket.
Can I install the lamp
post myself?
Yes you can, fairly simple job
to do. Take a look at our
installation guide for some
guidance with
this. You should always have
any electrical work carried out
by a fully qualified electrician.
Can I use a dusk till dawn
light bulb in my garden lamp
post?
Yes you can. We supply a
range of energy saver dusk till dawn
light bulbs that will fit our
garden
lamp post range. We do
however advise that these
energy saver lamps are only
used in lamp posts with
clear glass as frosted or
smoked glass may give the
built in sensor a false reading
and activate the
sensor during the
day.
Can you supply
replacement glass or Perspex
covers for the lamp post
heads?
Yes we can. Should the glass
or Perspex in the head of
your lamp post get damaged
we can supply
replacements just let us know
the details of your original
order to enable use to supply
you with
the correct glass.

post from you without the

lamp posts that we can supply
without the head. Email us with the details

particular the height and our
