Ceramic Table Lamps - Table Lamps |
 |
 |
Ceramic table lamps or
plaster or even pottery table
lamps have a wide range of
styles due to the huge amount
of glazes that are available to
cover these table lamps in.
Some come with a metalic
reflective glaze and others
come in more traditional clear
or textured glazes. |

Ceramics are
highly collectible and an art
form in their own right.
Having ceramic lamps in a
setting can marry textures,
colours and style while still
providing appropriate lighting.
In a living room or a bedroom
perhaps, a lamp is often used
to provide sufficient light for
reading by. If this is the
purpose and function of your
lamp, be sure to choose one
that provides strong enough
illumination for the purpose.
LED lights have amazing
brilliance and only take up a
small amount of space which
leaves much more room for
design features or slim line,
space saving
items.
At other times, a ceramic
lamp might be used for
ambient lighting to create a
mood and offer a soft glow
near a plant, ornament or a
vase of flowers. Different
designs have different shades
that will affect the light
distribution. A closed top or
domed shade will direct the
light downwards and prevent
any light spilling out from the
top. This sort of style is ideal
if you want to keep the light
source contained so as not to
disturb others.
Open top shades will allow the
light to beam both ways and
illumination will radiate
around the lamp. If you are
using a lamp in a bedroom
you should make sure that
you can get easy access to
the on/off switch from your
bedside. Some lamps have
control over the level of
brightness they produce,
which makes them ideal as
nightlights when they are at
their lowest level, gentle glow. |
